Blew the Roof off the Grove
First, let me extend my heart-felt thanks to the Brunswick Grove, for having us again. We had a blast, as always, and it sounded like the crowd did too! By the end of our 3rd set, people were singing along, and cheering for more! That's why we like to play at the Grove!

We are looking forward to coming back again soon, with some new songs, some requests, and maybe even a surprise or two!

Great Gig at the Grove!

Thanks to everyone who came out to see us at The Brunswick Grove! We had a blast, and it looks like everyone else did too. I did hear that it was a bit too loud, so we'll work on that for the next time!
Special thanks to Tommy for helping with the sound, and then sitting in during the 3rd set! Also I want to thank Tony and Paul for coming up and helping us finish the night. Comfortably Numb sounded great!

Pysch'd for this Saturday Night at the Grove!
This is going to be an awesome night of music! The band is ready, and even though we will have one final rehersal before the gig, I feel we are ready to rock the joint! Jim just flew back from Indiana, where he saw the Dave Matthews Band play at the Verizon Wireless Music Center. "The show was amazing," said Jim, "and I am ready to play some DMB!". Hope to see ya'll at the Grove. It should be a good turn-out, so get there early!

Great gig at the Internet Cafe

Last night we played as a trio at the Internet Cafe, in Red Bank, NJ. Jim, Kathryn and Mike performed an hour-long set, and it seemed like the crowd dug what we were doing. Hey, at least we didn't hear "crickets" after each song!

Friday Night at the Internet Cafe!

We are opening for the Matthew Curran Band this Friday night. The show's goin' down at the Internet Cafe, in Red Bank NJ, and starts at 8:00 PM. We will be playing as a trio, because of limitations imposed by the venue. However, it should be a great time, and we are looking forward to another great evening of Dave Matthews music! Looking forward to the DMB Summer Tour!
Can you believe it? It's just around the corner! Before you know it, we will be listening to the live sounds of the Dave Matthews Band! Two days & nights of music on Randalls Island! Hersey Park! 2 nights at Tweeter Center in Camden! Who's going to the shows? Drop us a line, and maybe we can meet up at one of the shows! You know I'll have my guitar, and will be playing DMB tunes at the tailgate party. :)

What's in a Name?
So, you may be wondering, how did we decide on the name "Atypical Situation" for our dmb tribute band? Well, there are several really good Dave Matthews Tribute Bands out there, with names such as "Dancing Nancies", and "Tripping Billies". When we were looking for a name, we started to go through the ENTIRE Dave Matthews song catalog, trying to find a name that would fit our group. Many different ideas were bandied about (one of my personal favorites was "Dave's Not Here"), but we finally settled on "Atypical Situation".

For those true "Dave Heads", you know that the band has a song entitled "Typical Situation", which is off the studio album "Under the Table and Dreaming"", and is also a staple of many a live dmb show. Well, we didn't want to be your "typical" cover, I mean "tribute" band. We are trying to recreate the "live" dmb sound, and so all of the versions of the dmb tunes we perform are based on live recordings: hence the "Atypical".
